Fear to know

Hi ,
I want to share my experiences with you in getting my BP (Blood Pressure)down.
I knew I had borderline BP about 10 years ago(year2000)and fortunately not being one that runs to the Doctor for every little pain and sore throat, avoided the BP issue till about 2005. I figured I was at the age when avoidance of the issue may "cause serious harm to my health".

I made an appointment - lo and behold my BP must have been 150/95, weight over180lbs (and I am about 5' 2 1/2" barefoot. I never looked fat-I was always able to carry my weight well. Size 38 waist.)
My doctor said it may be time to "medicate" my situation.
I asked for a few months extension and joined a gym in town. Cut out salt just about altogether; so much so I was licking my dry lips all the time. Changed my diet...
When I came back for a follow up I had lost some weight but was still borderline.
And so I started my medication with generic Lisinopril, an ACE inhibitor and hydrochlorothiazide, (HCT) a diuretic.

I will get back to my past history when I get a hold of my medical records - not easy to get as I believe they are"owned" by my Doctor.
For the time being I am going to start posting as of November 15th,2009. What I eat, how much I weigh and what exercise I do that day. The good news is that my BP is down to a real normal 120/70 after 4 years and that has been for the last 2 doctor visits. I go every 3 months - it is an incentive to "look good" each time I get there.
weight - about 160-164. Waist size has wasted away to 34"
